Look beside the selected geometry

Many drawing-specific controls appear only after selection. Click the item, then look for a small settings pill or the larger three-dot button beside the highlighted geometry.

Beam lines, the selected ledger edge, outer joists, and roof-support posts can expose these nearby controls. A footing is the important exception: drag its marker to move it, or click the small three-dot button beside it for individual settings. The marker does not open a separate right inspector.

Use the three-dot button beside a footing

Click the small three-dot button beside a footing marker to open Design, Overrides, and Summary for that individual support. Dragging the marker moves the support; it is not the normal left-click target for opening a dedicated right-side inspector.

The right inspector remains the parent deck bay’s workspace for Geometry, Structure, Beams, and Loads. The individual footing editor stays beside the drawing and applies its changes immediately.

The menu moves out of the way

On a normal desktop width, richer editors dock just left of the inspector. If that position would cover the control you clicked, the editor moves to the canvas left edge. On narrower workspaces, it stays close to the click and flips above when needed.

This movement does not change which item is selected; it only keeps the drawing and the clicked control visible.
