DeckDraft Legal

Terms of Use and Drafting Disclaimer

Effective date: August 8, 2026

1. Drafting Tool Only

DeckDraft is a drafting and estimating application. It is not a licensed engineering or architectural service. Drawings, takeoffs, and warnings are informational and may not include all project-specific structural, geotechnical, or jurisdictional requirements.

2. User Responsibility for Compliance

You are solely responsible for verifying your design against all applicable local, state, and national codes, permit rules, zoning requirements, HOA restrictions, manufacturer instructions, and site conditions before construction.

You must obtain all required permits and inspections, and where required by law, have the project reviewed and approved by a licensed engineer or other qualified professional.

3. Safety and Construction Risk

Construction decisions involve life-safety risk. Do not rely on DeckDraft output as your only basis for structural, load, attachment, footing, guard, stair, or connection decisions. Field conditions and material limitations must be verified independently.

4. Beta Features and Accuracy

Some features are in beta and may be incomplete or inaccurate. You agree to independently validate all dimensions, quantities, and connection details before purchasing materials or beginning construction.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DeckDraft and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the software, including design errors, permit denials, material loss, delays, or construction defects.

6. Intellectual Property

DeckDraft, including its software, interface, branding, text, graphics, and related content, is owned by DeckDraft and protected by intellectual property laws. Your use of the service does not transfer ownership of any DeckDraft intellectual property.

You retain ownership of your project inputs and content. By using the service, you grant DeckDraft a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to provide and improve the product.

7. Ownership of Intellectual Property

Sole Ownership: All software code, algorithms, logic engines (including joist and beam compliance logic), user interface designs, and generated plan set formats are the exclusive property of DeckDraft.

Feedback and Suggestions: You agree that any feedback, systems, or feature suggestions you provide during use of the software automatically become the sole property of DeckDraft without obligation for compensation or equity.

No Reverse Engineering: Users are strictly prohibited from attempting to decompile, reverse engineer, or replicate the internal logic of the application, except where prohibited by applicable law.

8. Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure

Trade Secrets: The internal dashboard, Installer Settings, and compliance logic are considered proprietary trade secrets.

Third-Party Disclosure: You agree not to demonstrate, screenshot, or share access to the software's backend or internal processes with third-party corporations, competitors, or manufacturers (including but not limited to CAD software providers or material manufacturers) without express written consent from DeckDraft.

9. Subscription, Cancellation, and First-Payment Guarantee

DeckDraft offers a 14-day trial without requiring a payment card. The trial does not automatically convert to a paid subscription. Monthly billing begins only when you choose to subscribe and authorize the displayed recurring charge. The base subscription is $169 per month for one included user, and each additional user is $50 per month.

Paid subscriptions renew monthly until canceled. Stripe-connected subscriptions can be managed or canceled through the billing portal in Account settings. Cancel before the next renewal date to avoid the next monthly charge. Manual billing customers may contact support@deckdraftcad.com for cancellation help.

30-day money-back guarantee: If DeckDraft is not the right fit, request a refund within 30 calendar days of your first paid subscription payment by emailing support@deckdraftcad.com. DeckDraft will refund that first subscription payment in full and cancel the subscription when the refund is issued. The guarantee is available once per customer or company. Later renewals and charges made after the first subscription payment are not covered, except where a refund is required by law. Refunds are returned to the original payment method and may take additional time to appear depending on the payment provider.

10. Analytics and Advertising Measurement

DeckDraft uses analytics and advertising measurement services, including Google Ads. When you purchase a subscription, DeckDraft may provide limited first-party account information, such as your email address, to Google for conversion measurement. The Google tag normalizes and one-way hashes this information before it is transmitted for matching and attribution.

DeckDraft does not provide Google with plan drawings, project addresses, project customer names or contact details, or other workspace content for this purpose. By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using DeckDraft, you acknowledge and consent to this advertising-measurement processing.

11. Acceptance

By creating an account, signing in, or using DeckDraft, you acknowledge and accept these terms and this drafting disclaimer.
